Hotel Guests
What facilities can I use? Hotel residents can use the swimming pool, Cleopatra Baths and gym, free of charge.
Hotel guests are required to sign a disclaimer form in order to use the gym. The Fitness Team will provide guests with an overview of the gym equipment and provide any health & fitness advice if requested.
Is there a charge for using the Thermal Suite & Hydropool? Yes, hotel guests can use the Thermal Suite & Hydropool at the preferential rate of £30 per person for 2 ½ hours.
What do I need to bring? Please bring your swimsuit if you are using the Swimming pool, Hydropool and Thermal Suite.
Suitable footwear and clothing, such as trainers, t-shirt and shorts are required in order to use the gym and studios.
When can children use the swimming pool? Children under 16 years old may only use the swimming pool if supervised by an adult during the following times:
Monday to Friday: 15:00 – 17:00 Saturday & Sunday: 08:30 – 09:30 & 15:00 – 17:00
NB These times are subject to change, especially during Easter, Christmas, New Year and other official holidays. Please contact the Spa for further information.
Do you provide towels, robes and slippers? Yes, although Hotel guests are welcome to come over to the Spa in their robe and slippers.
Can children use the gym? Children under 16 years old are not permitted to use the gym at One Spa.
Thermal Suite, Hydropool and Cleopatra Baths
What do I need to bring? Please bring your swimsuit to enjoy the Cleopatra Baths, Hydropool and Thermal Suite.
Can I wear my jewellery? Please remove all jewellery before entering the Hydropool as the mineral content may cause discolouration.
Are there any age restrictions? Guests under 16 years old are not allowed to use the Thermal Suite, Hydropool or Cleopatra Baths
Can I use these facilities if I am pregnant? Expectant mothers are not permitted to use the Cleopatra Baths, Thermal Suite or Hydropool.
Spa Treatments
Should I reserve spa treatment in advance? It is advisable to book spa treatments in advance to avoid disappointment, although on the day enquiries are welcome.
Can someone help me decide what spa treatments are best for me? Yes, our Spa Therapists can help you decide which treatments would be most beneficial for you.
You can also reserve ‘TIME’ – where their knowledge and an in-depth consultation will allow them to create a programme of spa treatments designed to suit your specific needs.
Are there any age restrictions? Yes, guests must be aged 18 or over to have a spa treatment at One Spa.
What do I need to bring? Please bring your swimsuit if you are using the Swimming pool, Cleopatra Baths, Hydropool and Thermal Suite. We will provide you with a locker, towels, robe and slippers.
NB A deposit is required for your access & locker band.
How early should I arrive prior to my spa treatments? Please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment, allowing yourself time to change into your robe and slippers and familiarize yourself with One Spa. We request that you arrive at the Treatment Reception desk 10 minutes before your treatment.
Should I tell anyone if I have any medical conditions, physical disabilities or allergies? Yes, especially if you have high blood pressure, suffer from allergies or are pregnant. Please notify our Spa receptionists when making your appointments and inform your spa therapist before your treatment. Any information you disclose will be kept confidential.
Can I use One Spa if I am pregnant? You can use the swimming pool and have certain spa treatments. Please notify the Spa receptionist at the time of booking and your spa therapist before your treatment.
What spa treatments can I have if I am pregnant? We have specially designed treatments for expectant mothers. Please allow our Spa Team to guide you in selecting which spa treatments are most suitable for you during this special time.
Can I drink alcohol? The consumption of alcohol is not recommended before or directly after any spa treatments.
Do I have to disrobe completely for my spa treatments? Underwear is not necessary although you may choose to wear briefs if you wish. During certain treatments disposable underwear is provided. Any areas of the body not involved in your treatment will be draped with towels to protect your privacy and ensure your comfort at all times.
What should I do if I’m not comfortable during my spa treatment? Your therapist will ask you if you are comfortable during the treatment - please ask your therapist to adjust the lighting, the volume and type of music or pressure applied during massage. Your comfort is of the utmost importance.
What should I do at the end of my spa treatment? Your Therapist will guide you to the relaxation area. Please allow yourself sufficient ‘quiet time’ to ensure you receive the maximum benefits from your spa treatment.
What if I can’t make my appointment? Please allow 24 hours notice to avoid a 100% charge.
Are there any medical benefits in visiting One Spa? Many of our spa treatments will assist in the relief of many different types of aches and pains. The guaranteed benefits of visiting One Spa are your immersion in a relaxing, stress-free environment. Stress reduction can aid good health.
Gym Questions
What training is provided? All new members are required to complete an induction with One Spa’s Personal Fitness Instructors. This involves undertaking:
- Lifestyle questionnaire: The Instructors will review all aspects of your health and wellbeing, from fitness and diet to motivation and lifestyle.
- Fitness assessment: measuring your height, weight, blood pressure, cardiovascular efficiency and strength.
The instructors will then develop a customized exercise and lifestyle programme(s), designed to meet your individual goals. They will take you through your programme(s), ensuring you are comfortable using the equipment. Thereafter your programmes are continually updated.
I have used fitness equipment before; do I still need to go through a training session and fitness assessment? Yes, all members must undergo the induction process as described above.
If you would rather do your own routine in the gym and not be prescribed with your own programme, then the instructor will set your key to ‘free training’.
Will I receive on-going assistance from instructors? The instructors will always be available to assist members at any time. After members have received their initial assessments, the instructors will contact them for re-assessments depending on their progress.
What type of equipment is used in the gym? We have a wide range of Technogym Cardiovascular and Resistance equipment, which use the new evolutionary Key System. All members are given their own gym key, in which their own personal programme is stored, so that when they enter their gym key into the machine, it will automatically pre-programme for them.
Do you provide heart rate monitors? All the cardiovascular machines have heart rate sensors. These sensors will pick up your heart rate, if you either hold on to the handgrip sensors on the machines or wear a heart rate belt which you can get from the Fitness Team.
What entertainment system is used in the gym? All of the cardiovascular machines in the gym have their own flat television screens. Headphones can be purchased from the Spa Reception.
Are towels and water provided? There is a chilled water fountain available in the gym and towels are available for guests to use when working out.
Is Personal Training available? One Spa offers professional one to one health and wellness programmes through the Executive Fitness Foundation. Director Iain Bell, who is one of Scotland's leading personal trainers, can provide one to one personal training sessions for members and hotel guests for an additional fee.
Can children use the gym? Children under 16 years old are not permitted to use the gym at One Spa.

What types of membership do you offer? There are three types of membership available:

What is the cost of joining One Spa? The cost will depend on the type of membership you select, joining fee and whether you decide to pay monthly or annually.
Is there an age limit to join One Spa? Yes, individuals must be 18 or over.
Do you offer Corporate Memberships? Yes, individuals from certain companies and organisations can benefit from corporate memberships.
Is car parking available? Members can use the One Spa car park for three hours per visit complimentary.
Do you provide towels?Complimentary towels and Body Dryers are available for your use.
Are there any additional benefits or member events? One Spa members receive a wide variety of exclusive benefits and can attend various events throughout the year. Please contact the Spa for further details.
What if I forget my Swatch access watch? The necessary security checks will be made at the Spa Reception and you will be required to leave a deposit in order to be issued with a temporary watch. The full deposit amount will be refunded when you return the watch.
Is there a charge for members’ children to use the swimming pool? Yes, £5 per child during the following times:
Monday to Friday: 15.00 – 17.00 Saturday & Sunday: 08.30 – 09.30 and 15.00 – 17.00
